Skimmerhorn Mountain Fire update

More information has now come out when it comes to the Skimmerhorn Mountain Fire, near Creston.

Southeast Fire Information Officer Karlie Shaughnessy says it's located east of Lister, and it's approximately 25 hectares in size.

She says the fire is located on steep, difficult terrain... fortunately no communties or structures are threatened...but the fire is highly visible to surrounding communities, and  EZ Rock listeners say it's hazy today in the Valley.

Today 4 helicopters & 34 fire suppression personnel will be working the fire, which was caused by lightening and discovered yesterday.

Yesterday there were a few lightening caused fires around the region, but the rest were minor, and crews were on scene before they could spread.
